In order to generate ties with the local community of San Antonio and sensitize the locals about the importance of the installation of instruments in the area, Dr. García offered a
talk about QUBIC. “The community needs not only to have knowledge, but also an active participation in the project,” said Beatriz.
Finally, an activity on light pollution was developed in which it was highlighted that San Antonio has a municipal ordinance to control this type of pollution. The day concluded with a direct observation of the night sky to determine the level of light pollution in the city, in which teachers and primary and secondary school students participated.
